TZG’s connection with place resonates across the singular site and its broader context. Our approach is informed by a unique perspective and knowledge, gained over four decades of experience and is paired with our respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People and Country. Finding authenticity in the site’s stories of place and history, we weave a careful analysis of built form to compose new works that are meaningfully embedded within the site.
TZG understands its responsibility and unique opportunity to improve the world. We maximise the potential of each project to address the client’s aims, while also considering our responsibility to the wider community and impact on the planet. We are committed to listening to the voices of First Nations Peoples and improving our understanding of their custodianship of Country. Our care is reflected in the development of our Reconciliation Action Plan and Sustainability Action Plan.
We begin each project by gathering information, integrating client aims, exploring site possibilities and using our vast experience to begin the practice of design. From there, we look forwards and backwards, analysing and iterating, revising and adjusting, checking relevance and embedding opportunities for collaboration and new ideas as the scheme advances towards its final form.
TZG thrives on collective creativity both within the office and beyond. Our organisation has a fluid structure that promotes approachability. This culture extends to our collaborative approach with clients, consultants, specialists, artists and makers, builders, suppliers, community and Country. We enjoy the process of collaborating and value the expertise and experience of other disciplines. Through this process, we forge alliances that lead to depth, authenticity and functionality within each project. Each project extends our ability to collaborate and informs our collective understanding. We give the project the ego.
TZG’s interest in each project does not end when the builder leaves the site. Every project takes its place in the contemporary context and the heritage of its setting. It extends the continuum of knowledge within our office that promotes learning and growth. We care deeply about how each project performs, right now and in the years ahead.

TZG acknowledges the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People, on whose land we work and pay our respects to Elders past, present and future. We are committed to a just, equitable and reconciled Australia and support the Uluru Statement from the Heart.

Always was, always will be.
