Including 16 shared bedrooms and communal facilities, the Family Recovery Centre supports Odyssey Houses therapeutic rehabilitation programme for the treatment of addicts. The Centre also accommodates the children of inpatients, up to nine years of age.

FFFFFF

The Centre is nestled into the Odyssey House Eagle Vale campus, and has been conceived as a collection of small scale buildings focussed on communal spaces at the centre, and with the private rooms at the perimeter.

This plan allows for incidental encounters between inpatients, staff and children, to accustom them to coping with day-to-day interactions.

Whilst the Centre is an efficient medical facility, holding centrally placed nurses’ quarters, and built in cost-effective modules, the building’s domestic qualities have been imagined through the eyes of a nine-year-old who is accompanying their rehabilitating parent.
