TZG is continuing to work closely with our client and consultant team on a way to move forward with a proposal for the Randle Street Hotel site.

On Thursday the 25th of May at 4pm a massive fire erupted and burnt down the 100 year old former hat manufacturing factory at 11-13 Randle Street, Surry Hills.

"Some 120 firefighters and 20 trucks were called in to contain the fire by 6pm, but it took authorities several days to fully extinguish the "deep-seated" flames in the basement."

Only some of exterior warehouse walls remained after the fire was put out.

Emergency services and on site engineers determined that the remaining structure had to be demolished to ensure safety for police and clean up crews.

Since winning the design excellence competition, our team had been working on the design and documentation for the Randle Street Hotel for the past six years. We were weeks away from appointing a builder.

We were deeply saddened by the event on the 25th of May and our thoughts were with our client, and all of those who were negatively affected by this tragedy.

We will continue to work closely with our client and our consultant team on a way forward for this exciting project.
